© 2008 The Whimsey Shoppe, All rights reserved

Known for its captivating selection of French country antique furniture and charming accessories, The Whimsey Shoppe has been the favorite haunt for many designers and descriminating homeowners from throughout the United States. From California, Santa Fe, Florida, Georgia, and its outer banks, Memphis, New York, Chicago... and even from France... The Whimsey Shoppe customers have come to rely on the charming array in the galleries.
Beginning as a small, 1,500 square foot shop on Henderson Avenue in Dallas some twenty or so years ago, the Henderson shop has since grown to more than 12,000 square feet and a new showroom on Slocum Street in the Dallas Design District has joined the Whimsey Shoppe family offering an additional 11,000 square feet of gallery space.
Together these two stores offer one of the most interesting and significant sources of furniture and decorative accessories from the provinces of France that you can find in the United States. Suzie Patterson, FASID, and Wendell Patterson, the owners, travel the highways and byways of France to gather personally-selected antiques from the beautiful countryside. Each trip the couple travels more than 2,500 miles (not kilometers) inside France searching for Whimsey Shoppe treasure.
So, what makes The Whimsey Shoppe different? Well, selection, style and price. For one thing the shop's selection of dining room furniture is unmatched. It also has one of the largest selections of
French farm tables in the United States (or so the French shippers tell us). The shop's collection of French copper is stunning and remarkable. We have vast selections and styles of armoires ranging in price from $3,300 to $24,880. Eighteenth, 19th, and early 20th century antiques offer a delightful choice from the "cheap and cheerful" to serious, epoque, museum-quality pieces.
As new shipments arrive at the store, there is a narrative description placed in the "Now in the Galleries" section of this web site. You are also invited to call the shops if you have a specific question about the inventory. If you are in the Dallas area, you are so lucky! Come by and experience the shops. They are really like no other. Antiques are best experienced personally. Each one has its own "presence" and "personality". You will enjoy getting to know them.
